Plant City Custom Fence and Gate
This plant city custom fence and gate project was done for a Plant City area contractor as part of a new home. This was a fun project for us that turned out great.
This project was done in conjunction and for a local plant city contractor for their customer. The home was almost completely built when we got involved. We were able to come up with a number of features to fulfill the customer’s and contractor’s requests.
- The gate was custom built to match the size of the columns. The gates had to be built so that the top didn’t hit the cap but could still rise above the columns.
- The gate integrates a connection point for the operator in the middle on the lower of the the two rails separated by rings. This provides a better connection point and is less likely to be damaged if the gate was to be hit.
- There are hand formed scrolls on top middle and double scrolls to give a butterfly effect on bottom. We bent these scrolls in our shop so that it would match the spacing exactly.
- This gate has a telephone entry to allow ease of use and communication back to the house. This particular unit was based on a land line so it actually connects to the home phone line and rings the phone inside the house.
- Fence panels on either side of the gate slope to bring the column height down slowly and match the rest of the fence.
- Each section of fence was built to match the gap in between the columns so that each fence section appeared uniform despite varying distance between the columns. This is pretty common most columns are not exact but these varied more than most and we had to custom build each 3 panel section to match. Generally fence panels are cut to length and you will see extremely short fence panels to fit to a space but with custom fabricated fence there is no need for this.
